Why Maria is Teaching This Program
In 1998, I started my business and had no money and lots of free time. Business websites cost a minimum of $5,000 and that was for a very plain 5 page site with NO forms, and very little photos.
So being someone who enjoys learning, I found an 18 hour web design class and by the first quarter of 1999 I had my first website up with an ezine. Since I needed money (doesn't everyone?) I started using these new skills to generate money.
That meant fixing other people's websites, redesigning pages, creating forms and a host of other things. Next thing I know I'M TEACHING A WEB CLASS! It ends up that I was going to an all day training on creating a home page at another college -- just to learn some more. And the teacher got into a car accident. So the head of the school, who knew me, asked if I'd teach the class. And after the shock wore off of "what could I possibly teach", I took the agenda and went to it.
Now I've taught classes in a few states. In colleges, privately for my own business and for 7 years at Discover U. And of course, I work with all my clients on their website. Now I no longer create them, but I teach my clients how to create their first website, OR feel so comfortable talking about web design stuff, that they hire a designer and collaborate on a site.
So fast forward 10 years form the time I took my first website class, I have 10+ websites that I still play around with but now have a graphic designer who does all the graphics work. And YOU are on one of those websites.
