What Is Integrity Day?

Integrity Day is a chance to collaborate with others to get things done! It's time to "take back your integrity!" Why integrity? Because when you say you'll do something and don't do it, you've thrown your integrity to the wind! Finally, you can make time to complete any goals, projects, tasks, or chores that you have let fall by the wayside. Big or small, personal or professional, it doesn't matter which, because they all make a difference. Honesty starts with you. Today, put yourself back in line with your integrity.

During this four hour process, time can be put towards taking care of anything you have put off, or haven't had time to complete. You will join others in brief phone conferences, to check in on your progress. This gives you the opportunity to help others keep their goals in line, and have them do the same for you! It is a remarkably effective tool for ridding your mind and your "to do" list of clutter. Some projects that I've seen completed include:

Monthly bookkeeping
Writing "that article"
Updating web sites
Cleaning a drawer, room, file, or garage
Unpacking
Gardening,
Organizing
Shopping for "whatever"
Designing a flyer, brochure, whatever!
Your personal or business goal here ____
Anything you've just been putting off here _____

It's your choice! It's your integrity!

A Brief History of Integrity Day

Integrity Day Logo Integrity Day was created by Thomas Leonard, the original "father" of the profession of coaching. In fact the logo used on this page was created by Thomas, just for this day.

"t" as he preferred to be called was a marvelous multi-tasker, who could work on what seemed to be a million projects at once. I had the honor of working for him from 2000 to 2003, until he passed away at age 47. Integrity Day was a day "t" created to get caught up. He realized that trying to catch up on things by yourself didn't always work; but when combining your efforts with those of your peers --and the results are amazing!

Integrity Day is time you put aside to complete things you've been putting off or start things you have planned to, but just hadn't gotten around to yet...

"I was impressed that something as simple as having to be accountable every hour on the hour provided just the right amount of motivation to get things done and resist distractions. I also continue to benefit from the projects I finished and my nicely organized file cabinet saves me so much time!"
Christine Mifsud, Sales Content Writer

"I completed a task I had been dreading! The excitement of that accomplishment carried over into the following week and helped me get even more done that I had been putting off."
Mike Valentine, Search Engine Consultant
Long Beach, California, http://seoptimism.com/

"...it was extremely empowering and helpful. The tasks I accomplished had been sitting there, waiting for me to tackle them, for some time. Knowing that I would be calling in an reporting on how I had handled them, encouraged me to finish them in a much quicker manner and with a "can do" attitude."
Brenda Wall, Independent Pre-paid Legal Associate

"Your Integrity day gave me a kick-start to gain momentum on tasks I was putting off. Thank you for holding this "retreat" - it was inspirational. "
Mary Lee LaBay, Hypnotherapist, Author
Bellevue, WA, http://www.maryleelabay.com

"The Tolerations work I did the day before, helped me focus on 6 tasks and get them done before the program. This was the most productive day I have had in ages. I feel great about what I was able to accomplish and I'm ready to whip out the finishing touches tomorrow."

What You Get:

  • Calls every hour on the hour to keep you focused and accountable to what you said you'd be doing.
  • On the spot coaching when necessary.
  • A group of motivated people, including Maria, cheering you on!

All this may sound corny, but it really does work!

How It Works

Before Integrity Day

  • Let your staff, family, friends, etc. know not interrupt you during Integrity Day.
  • Create a list of the tasks you want to (or need to) complete. It might be a single project, or a list of smaller to-do's. Write it down.
  • Create a to-do list of 3-4 activities you want to accomplish on Integrity Day.

On Integrity Day

  • Purchase meals, water, soda or any supplies you'll require and have them ready an hour before the event starts.
  • Put a sign on the door that says "Do No Disturb".
  • Shut all the phones off in your office or home.
  • Turn your answering machine on and your computer off (only turn it on IF and When you need it to complete the day's goals).
  • Call into a special conference line where you will meet other Integrity Day members and introduce yourself.
  • The first call will be no more than 10 minutes, and will include some key principals to get all of us going.
  • Hang up and get to work! This process will be repeated on each hour's call.
  • Finish a big project or a bunch of smaller ones. Your choice.
  • In between calls I'll be working on my own projects but if you're really feeling stuck and need a 2 minute talk, call me at 360-271-8418 NOTE: This is NOT the time for a coaching session, time to vent, or time to request free resources.

At the times below, call into a special (long distance) phone number emailed to you when you register.

  • 10am PST/ 1pm EST -- Call into the group and introduce yourself. Next everyone will briefly state their goals for the hour, get off the phone and then get to "to doning" them!
  • 11am PST/ 2pm, AND 12m PST/ 3pm EST, AND 1pm PST/ 4pm EST -- Call into the group and update us on where you stand, and what's next. If you're stuck or overwhelmed, ask for assistance or suggestions from the group or me. Do your best to keep comments on the calls to a minimum so we can get to the business of getting things done!
  • 2pm PST/ 5pm EST -- Final call. Let's take a look at how the day went, what "wins" you had, what "just happened" that you didn't expect, etc.

Special Information

  1. The number you will call is located in the USA. This call will cost your usual long distance phone rate. If you are located outside the USA, please find out before the call which international numbers you need to dial before a USA phone number. Also, if at first you dial and don't get through... try again.
  2. The calls will start exactly on the hour and last up to 5 minutes. To make sure all your clocks to agree with our clock www.timeanddate.com
  3. Please be courteous, and be on time. Each time a person joins the call; there is a dead noise and a click. If someone was speaking, they will not be heard.
  4. If you have additional questions, contact me.
  5. Please do not audiotape the calls and I will not be taping the calls either.
  6. Call from a quiet place If there are other people or animals around during the call time, please use your mute button. It is amazing how the call makes even a little noise (like shuffling papers) sound really loud on a telecast!
